Belly Wrinkles
I've noticed that the front of my kilt has started forming belly wrinkles where the canvas liner doubles up, and my belly unfortunately starts to jut out. It's hidden a bit with the sporran, but the sporran strap seems to accentuate it. Is this normal? Is there a cure? Will periodic ironing help, or do I just need to lose the gut to get it to go away?

Yeah, you need to lose weight (don't we all); best of luck with that.
Your kilt probably has a second, lower strap & buckle on your right hip; leave a lot of slack in it. It does nothing to hold your kilt up, and it's probably too tight.
I know you've probably been told to wear your sporran a hand's breadth beneath the belt, but bring it up higher so it doesn't accentuate and contribute to that "feature".

I had the same issue due to a rather noticeable swelling in my abdomen
I solved it by buying the sporran hanger that go on your belt. This allows the sporran to swing off the belt and not disturb the apron.

I've been wearing my casual kilt every day now for weeks and I'm getting the same problem. I think pressing is the only answer.
The Kilt is my delight !
