A rather humorous event
Anyone who has been following the weather in the US knows that the last few days has introduced a nice cold front in places that don't normally get real chilly. The area of Georgia in which I live dropped into the low teens during the last couple of days, BRRRRR..
With that background, on Friday morning I took the wife Christmas shopping and decided to wear the kilt out with her. Of course regimental for those who care. My wife asked me to stop a local convience store to get her a cup of coffee, so I pull the truck into the store, leave it running so she can be warm.
Once back into the truck and on our way, I get a rather warm feeling in the boys. Really had me concerned as this was a first time in a wool kilt. Was starting to worry that I was having a reaction. I turned to explain to my wife what was going on and she busted up laughing. It seems while I was in the store, she decided to turn the seat heater on becuase she was afraid the boys would get cold.
After a short time of embarrasement at not thinking about that, we shared a good laugh together... So for all of you kilties, beware of the significant other trying to keep you warm!

The only seat warmers my cars have, is you sit and they will eventally get warm.

Tell you what...that sure beats the ice cold chill the seat gives my boys when I first sit down in the car...I'm learning to get the kilt adjusted under me VERY rapidly this winter.

I know exactly how you feel. My '93 400E doesn't have heated seats. I've been alarmed a few times by the chill, but now I expect it. However, when we went to go somewhere in her '01 ML430, she had indeed turned on the seat heat w/o my knowledge, and I was also quite surprised. She immediately noticed my reaction and informed me of it, so I didn't have to sit there and wonder why the boys were toastin'! I just turned the heater to 'low' and all was well and good. On a slight aside, during the summer I had a little issue with sticking to the leather a bit. But since I finally found some BodyGlideŽ, that's no longer an issue either.

I'd think that it would be more efficient, economical, and hygienic to learn to correctly sit on the kilt instead of letting things simply crumple under you when you sit down.
The last time I had any skin touch the seat was a goodly number of years ago, in the height of summer - in Arizona - when I sat down on some aluminum bleachers.
Ever since then, I'm *very* cautious about the sweep-and-sit.
