You can have a nice, tweed jacket cut down for use as a "kilt jacket." It's something that any reputable tailor can accomplish, If you need some rough instructions, get a copy of So YOu're Going to Wear the Kilt and look in the back.
I don't know what your normal practice is, but if you wear a color, it would look very nice with a tweed jacket and kilt. Otherwise just wear your normal shirt and tie.
BTW, if it's warm where you are in April (Tartan Day in the US), then your jacket need not be tweed. You can pick any nice tropical weight sports coat and have it cut down. IN fact, in the US where it is generally cooler than Scotland, that might be your best bet.
