Homanay in Edinburgh Cancelled....
...and we're stuck in Edinburgh airport.
After a splendid week in Scotland we were planning to cap it off with the big Hogmanay party in Edinburgh, but hurricane-force winds forced the officials to cancel the party.
We have no room (well, actually the Holiday Inn has one for 300 US Dollars, and we'd have to get two rooms, so that's out) so we're settling in for a long night in the Edinburgh airport. I sure hope tomorrow's flights aren't cancelled or delayed as well.
Will post photos, etc. when I get back to the states. These airport internet kiosks won't let me stick in photo discs.
Cheers,

That's a bummer. Sleeping at the airport is never any fun.

Well, my wife and I just had our New Year's kiss, then killed a wee bottle of Isle of Jura single malt I picked up earlier today. Takes a bit of the sting out of sleeping on an airport seat

Sorry about the travesty of no festivities. Yet I do sense that you are making the best of a bad situation.

By the way, those 70+ mph breezes sure revealed who was wearing lightweight kilts! Lots of shiny bums on the sidewalks, but mine was well-covered and warm!
