And thank you for your service. I always remember how my father sailed under the Golden Gate on Xmas eve in 1944 (or there abouts) only to find that all the workers were off duty, so he and the rest of the sailors spent Xmas on the ship within sight of San Francisco.
I am reminded of the quote from George Orwell: "We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."
