Tamnavulin
I've had that Whisky before! A friend of mine brought a bottle of Tamnavulin to a gents Burns Night last year! I'll ask him where he got it!

Derek, congrats on the present! A quick google gives several links, including where you can buy it mail order.
I know nothing of these things but perhaps if the distillery has been mothballed they will still have whiskey ageing and for sale for a couple of years yet.

Tamnavulin...
aye a guid yin...
means "Mill Oan The Hill"..
it is from the Glen of the River Livet...
the distillery has been "mothballed" since 1996.... (Jim Beam bought it and mothballed it)
which means they arr no offically usin' it (often the mothballed ones arr used fur special batches)
the maist memorable yin ai mind wuz a 24 year auld "Stillmon's Dram" of Tamnavulin...
lemony, heather and slight juniper flavours ... if ai recall....
ai'm sure ai can pick some oop locally here...
