Big Mikey, your hat is born. Er, done.
WOW, black is nice. As I was making it, I refered to it as the B17 Bonnet, and the name stuck in my mind. I got the order this morning, and was able to finish it in a day, even with having to walk a mile or two to get to the post office to mail off a few orders, go to the bank, and run a few errands, which tend to take time when you're hoofing it.
Black yarn is always a little stiff because of what they use to dye it. It is soft, but a bit stiff. Given some time and wear, this'll have a lovely drape to it. Headband stretches out to about 22 to 24 inches, or more, but that will fit tight. This particular dye lot of black has a low sheen to it, so this practically pulls the light in. The first batch of photos I took turned out terrible, I had to adjust the flash and retake.
I really want some customer action shots of this one. I am going to miss this one, it is with some small sadness that I let it go.

Very Nice! You are getting better at this technique. You seem to be getting faster.

There are THOUSANDS of stitches in there... I don't know how I do it.
There are times when I crochet so fast that the yarn dragging over my finger (for proper tension) gives me friction burns, and my hook heats up as well from friction. I have a nasty red slash and plenty of scar tissue around the top of my left index finger. My wife doesn't want me to poke her with it, she says it's gnarly looking.
I'd like to get where I can make two hats a day. Although with summer coming, business will come to a grinding halt and I will be broke again.

Um, I might. I make no promises. My knitting is sad and pathetic. I can crochet quite well, but my knitting could make a statue weep.
I suppose I could start trying to improve my knitting to make some kilt hose.

Well, crochet some diced hose tops. I'm not talented enough to really know the difference, only that I can't do either.
