Kilt Nights in London, UK?
Anyone know of any kilt nights in London UK? All the activity seems to be on the other side of the pond!
Best regards

I'm planning to be in London on Tuesday 13th March, arriving in central London around noon and leaving for Stansted Airport around six or half past six. I'm looking at the logistics of doing this trip kilted as, being a day tripper, I won't have any baggage or hand luggage - could perhaps put sporran, chain, belt and kilt pin through the x-ray machine.

I am usually 'up' for a get together in London, and have gone there many times over the years, expressly to meet and welcome quite a few of our overseas brethren as they have passed through the capital. Four or five years ago we also had a series of kilts 'Saturdays' when maybe six or so of us would gather for a lunch and a kilted stroll/photo shoot around the famous landmarks of London. Weekdays are normally not possible for those who still have to work for a living!!
Because not so many of us actually live in London and therefore have rather difficult journeys home, the day-time gatherings seemed to be more successful.
I would certainly be pleased to enjoy another of those, especially as we now have a number of new members in the South East of England who might be able to attend. Anyone else?

A day time gathering on a Tuesday would probably suit me best. Mostly I work from home where I look after my wife who is disabled , but a carer looks in on my wife every Tuesday as I travel to Duns most Tuesdays to sit as Magistrates Court Assessor. So if I have a Tuesday when there is no court sitting I usually like to escape to somewhere different for the day.

OK so now I've got my Freedom Kilt which doesn't need a kilt pin I'm going to give the major airports a kilted visit. Nothing sharp on the sporran and chain so they can go through the x-ray and I won't need to check in any luggage for a day trip. I have the bargain flights booked on Easyjet Newcastle to Stansted return, same timings both days, Tuesdays 27th February and 13th March. One of these dates I will be remaining in the Stansted area to visit the collection of old warbirds at North Weald - will probably do this trousered as I may get an opportunity to clamber aboard some warbirds. The other date I will travel kilted and get a train from Stansted to London, so should be able to be kilted in central London from around 1pm till 6pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Kilted in London will be a new experience for me. Do either of those dates suit anyone for a meet up?

I would love to attend a meet but the train fare to London from Wales costs me more than flying to Edinburgh!
So not economic for a day trip.

Thank you, Alex, for your PM in which you drew me back to this topic - I've not been looking very deeply at most of the threads of late.
I am still 'up' for a London meet and could be in the capital on the 13th March Tuesday, but I have a hospital appointment on 27th February which makes that a non-starter for me. Paul and I have been talking about meeting in London for a while, but have not yet managed to arrange it - perhaps the time is now right!
Weekdays are still difficult for many chaps, but let's see what we can do to generate some interest (and availability). So, Alex and Paul for starters; are we able to agree Tuesday 13th March for a London gathering?
Anyone else in the South-East/Greater London area who could join us?
