    Small World

So, my lady and I are in Monument Valley, Utah this weekend for a function. We stayed at Goulding's Lodge and toured the park again today (Posted some pics on that forum).

Anyway, I'm kilted at the gas station at Goulding's filling up when a Navajo, about my age, drives up in his pick up truck. He rolls down the window and says, "Are you from Scotland?" Not wanting to complicate things I just said I was. He pointed at my kilt and said, "I have one too. My sister went to school in Edinburgh and she brought me one when she came home."

Told him that was great, that he should wear it. He said he liked it but it was too cold today...and it was cold and windy...I told him to remember, "Heat rises." He laughed and we went our seperate ways.

But hey...if a Navajo elder who lives deep on the reservation has a kilt from Scotland...that's market penetration.

That is neat.... Knowing how hard it is on the reservation to get anything, it is simply amazing!

Good for you Ron, Interculturalism at its finest. These sort of tales I love to hear.

That is very cool Ron, I hope one day he joins us in the freedom, another example of what a great kilt emissary you are, thanks for the story.
