Celtic Music Fest!
Tempest plus Molly's Revenge
Sat. Feb. 10, 2007, 8pm
$14 adv./$16 door
Based in Northern California, Tempest is recognized as a driving force in the modern folk-rock movement. Fusing traditional material with high-energy rock intensity, the band is renowned for its dynamic and electrifying concerts. The group's brand new studio CD, The Double-Cross, finds the band in peak form as it showcases inventive original and traditional material. Tempest's members hail from five countries across three continents: lead vocalist, electric mandolinist and founder Lief Sorbye from Oslo, Norway; drummer Adolfo Lazo from Havana, Cuba; guitarist Ronan Carroll from Dublin, Ireland; bassist Ariane Cap from Innsbruck, Austria; and fiddler Michael Mullen from Fresno, California. www.tempestmusic.com
Born out of the timeless tradition of Celtic music sessions, Molly's Revenge is a band with a genuine affection for the music they play; their enthusiasm for the music carries over in all their live and recorded performances. The classic combination of solo instruments such as the Highland bagpipes, uilleann pipes, whistles, fiddle, and mandolin against a backdrop of guitar and bouzouki accompaniment, with an occasional rousing chorus song mixed in, guarantees an enjoyable and memorable listening experience. Add the visual excitement of award-winning Irish step dancing to the mix and you've got yourself a party! www.mollysrevenge.com

I'm sure you all know Tempest and Molly's Revenge. They play at many of the Highland Games and Festivals around here.
The Little Fox is a Music Club/Bar in Redwood City on Broadway. The venue is really pretty wholesome. The bar serves beer, some mixed drinks, and soft drinks. There are restaurants nearby, everything from upscale to pizza. I think it's a 21-and-over joint. I've been a few times, it's a good place to catch a show like this and you can't beat the price, though I think it will be LOUD for Tempest.
I'm gonna go, I might be able to get the Invisible Joan to come as well. Anybody else?..

Sounds like a good time. I like both bands. We'll be there.
