Kilted benefit
I just got home from the "Broadway and Beyond: What we do for Love" benefit for a lady that's probably done more for the performing arts in Upper Michigan than anybody else. More than that, she's one of my closest friends. Her husband was my Best Man at my wedding, I've known her since she was a teacher in MN. She's been in the hospital (she's fine now).
Both Sorcererdale and I were there (and yes, we were both kilted!) There were pieces from shows she's choreographed, dances she's taught, and other pieces from theater. It was great.
Some of the Scottish pieces were the Sword dance and a Highland Ballet she choreographed originally in MN which was pretty intense. There was also a performance by Superior Pipes and Drums, the UP's first pipe band. The piper was Gregor MacGregor, who also piped to the Sword Dance (I've danced to his pipes. He's fast!) I've rarely ever head piping like that!!
A good cause and a good evening.
