    Phlly - St Pat's Day / Evening

As Saint Patrick’s Day is falling on a Saturday, there is no good reason for not having a Philly area kilted celebration. With that being said, are there any suggestions floating around yet that we can begin to solidify?

There is always the parade in Center City, and there is a load of good Irish Pubs and Bars on and around the parade route. I recommend McGillians Old Ale House on Drury Lane just off Broad and Samson ... then there is also the possibility of a 'Road Trip' to NYC ... the epicenter of St Patty's Day.

    Thoughts?????

    Brian,

Strange as it is, the Philadelphia parade is on Sunday the 11th not Saturday the 17th. Why not on St. Patricks Day? I duhknow.

According to my piping instructor, who spent quite a few years in different bands in the Long Island/NYC areas, almost all the east coast defers to NYC when it comes to the St Patrick's Day Parade. That's why the only parade in a major city in the area on the 17th is New York's. I'm not sure how far the agreement extends, but I know that Philly and Trenton both have parades on other dates.
