MacKintosh Hunting part 2
Well, today being our Boston kilted send off for Andrew it is only appropriate that I use the occassion to debut my new MacKintosh Hunting tank. Thanks to the support I received in the advice section I put it all together in what I think is a good combo.
Here it is.

Forgive my tie being a little adrift.
The feet were cut out of the photos because I wasn't wearing any shoes, just house slippers.

Nice looking outfit. The only suggestions I have (and they are only suggestions) are these. If you are going to wear the vest and the tie, button the vest. And then, since the vest is buttoned, you really don't need the belt at all (you couldn't see it anyway).
I think an open vest looks good with a less formal outfit (no tie). Oddly enough, I do think that a belt looks fine when worn with an open vest.
The only other suggestion is that I think a brown leather sporran would look stunning -- it would tone well with the vest, the shirt, and the tartan.
Great looking tattersal shirt, by the way!

I concur...
I definitely agree with Mr Newsome regarding your waistcoat. I also like to wear vests or waistcoats without a jacket, and they tend to look better (I think) when they are buttoned, especially with a tie. And then of course you dont need the belt. Kudos on the waistcoat and tattersall shirt- very smart, and British!
You should also check out the "Weathered" hunting and regular McIntosh tartans. I think they look REALLY cool. My Momma is a Kentcke McIntosh, so those are two tartans that I am seriously considering for my next Matt Newsome kilt!
Cheers,
Wesley
