Kilt Newbie Here!
Well, I just ordered my 1st kilt.. I ordered it from Rocky at USA Kilts. What a great guy and was very patient with my 1000 questions/emails (almost literally I'm afraid!!). I was very torn on what tartan to order, so I ordered the one that I thought was the "coolest," and most versatile to wear since it was my first. I got the semi-traditional in the Menzies tartan.
I have wanted a kilt for years but never have gotten up enough nerve until now. I work in a predominantly female profession, and am still a little hesitant about jeers or laughs when I wear it into work - does that sound bad??? I'm kind of wild anyways (arms covered in tattoos, Harley Rider, long hair and dress kinda "rockish"), and not very conservative, so I'm hoping they will just think it's cool and embrace it, so I can feel comfortable and confident and not be defensive while I'm wearing it!! Thanks for listening guys, and I gotta tell you dudes, you ALL look cool as hell! I can't wait to receive it..

It is good to have you here & I hope to see a lot of posts from you.
I have not actually done business yet with Rocky, but I must agree the is a real gentleman. I will be ordering from him by late Summer.

Welcome to the board.
Don't worry. Everybody feels apprehensive their first time out but it does get easier every day. The forum here is a wealth of knowledge and we're all pretty friendly (for the most part). Do a search of the forums to read about other guys' first times and learn some good answers to the inevitable questions.
Kilt on!
