    Vest Edicate?

I am planning on making some vests for the jackets I have or will "covert" to kilt jackets. However, I don't know the proper edicate in regards to vests.

As the fabric for the vests and the jackets are from different sources, they are HIGHLY unlikely to match.

I will be wearing black jackets and tweeds with tartan kilts.
My kilts (on-hand, in finished form or in fabric):
    Caledonia (F & K modern)
    Carolina (Lochcarron, modern, special weave)
    MacNeil (Lochcarron, modern)
    Wallace (Lochcarron, modern)
    USA Bicentennial (Lochcarron, modern)
    X Marks (F & K)

Most of my material for the vests will be solid colored 100% wools.
-So, I may be able to match most of the colors in my tartans

So, what is the proper edicate on coordination?

    Do you mean etiquette?

I'd probably go with trying to match the primary color of the kilt, with a tie that matches the primary stripe.
