Greeting From The Knocko
Wearing a Kilt, I feel free, proud, and all round good and happy. Within the last year, I found out I'm a Wallace (after 32 years!, my mom never spoke of my father), and therefore became very interested in my heritage. Since doing so, I just had to have a kilt. I purchased a Wallace economy from Stillwater Kilts (why do kilts have to be so expensive?) and will never look back. I want to wear it all the time, and find ways to do so. (Work hasn't allowed me the pleasure, yet, though...).
I hope all is well with everyone and look forward to puttering around the forums more thoroughly.

Welcome to the group! Just so other of you readers don't think being a troll is something bad, it isn't in this case. You see, I live in God's Country above "da bridge" http://www.mackinacbridge.org/ and Knocko lives in the Lower Peninsula which is "below the bridge." And you all know that trolls live under the bridge. haha
Hope to see a picture of you and your kilt and keep on posting.
DALE.
You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

A warm welcome from the Valley of the Sun & the Great Southwest!
I can relate to your experience as I only found out about my Scottish heritage a few years ago myself, though with my red hair, people would often ask me if I was Irish. Scottish ancestry was an initial starting point for my interest in kilts & continues to be a source of pride, but even if I didn't have the Celtic background, I'd wear a kilt because it's, as I like to put it, "the second most comfortable thing a guy can have wrapped around his waist." Plus, I just like the way it looks & its uniqueness.
I wear my kilt all the time, now, but that wasn't always the case at work; it took about 3 years to acclimate them to the idea, so don't give up hope. As you'll find in your exploration of this fine forum, that's a topic that's come up a number of times here & many a wise suggestion has been shared on how to approach that subject.
Where exactly is "Troll Country" in Michigan?
