Well, I finally got it!! Monday, May 14, at 3:00 I arrived at the shop of Robert MacDonald to pick up my tank in MacGregor Modern. It is beautiful.

The stitching is tight, the tartan is wonderful, the craftsmanship superb. Before I left the belt loops (my request) were adjusted, one strap was moved and the whole thing checked by Rob. His attention to detail is first rate.

This kilt is made of almost TEN yards of the finest Locharron 16oz. wool. It is pleated to sett. As stated there are two belt loops and only two straps as my hips are smaller than my waist. I only hope I can do justice to this magnificent garment. Take a look below.

The Finishing Touch

It took no time at all to get used to the higher wearing position of the traditional kilt. I now fully understand what all you guys are raving about when discussing tanks. The fit and feel are like nothing else.

To break it in, I went to the Dublin Crossing Pub with family and friends. See pics in the Share Pics forum.

I can not say enough about Rob and the products he turns out. If you are considering a tank, keep him in mind especially if you live in Canada.
