kilts, wife & harleys
good day ladies and gentleman.
the wife really dislikes me wearing kilts, her belief is that i'm swedish and that i have no business wearing the national attire of scotland. she may have a point? anyway she made me an offer, if i quite wearing kilts, she would buy me a new harley sportster. what a deal huh. told her i'd think about it. i have to admit it is a tempting offer, what would you do?

I would hold out for a big twin with the caveat that I can wear what I want when I am not with her.

That really is a disgraceful position your wfe has put you in. If you put that question to a rabble of kilties, you do not need me to tell you what the answer is !!!
PS I'm a divorce lawyer - do you need my number ?

A Sportster? That's what she should be riding. Go order yourself a nice new 8 yard tartan tank just to show her how offensive an offer that is. A sportster?! Maybe she'll get you training wheels too.

bikes vs kilts
hey,
I would give much of anything for a new bike, but i wouldnt give my own freedom of choice to wear a kilt, be it your sweedish or not, men though out history have worn unbifurcated garments, i would wear waht i want when i want, but then i am not yet married either, and that may have alot to do with it. but my own .02 cents worth is to be your own man and make your own choice. if she doesnt like it, introduce it to her slowly and she may just come to it on her terms, and as i am to be led, that is the best way for her to come terms. but like i said, i wouldnt trade freedom for the open road quite so readily as freedom of my onn legs.

Unless she's the bread winner in the family, has she really "given-up" anything in this deal.
Let's put together a fair counter-offer,
for me to give up kilts, I want:
1. UNLIMITED SEX (that ought to put a stop to this nonsense right there )
2. She needs to wear clothing of MY choosing (I don't care if I don't know what colors go together)
3. She must massage any and all muscles rendered uncomfortable due to pants at the end of everyday (no time limit).
4. I get ultimate say on all decisions she is faced with.
5. The basement and garage are MY domain and my rules reign.
6. and a Harley
Now that we've established the other end of the negotiation, we can start being reasonable.
Kilts may not be as important to you as others and it may not be the hill you want to die on, but good luck with it.

Now that's the way to negotiate! Nice job cavscout!

Once you allow the enemy to negotiate and or dictate terms, you have lost the war.

I have heard that 'you are not Scottish and you have no business wearing the kilt business' before. However, I am not going to tell you to be a man and damn the mrs. I don't know the dynamic between you and her. She may sound selfish to want to stop you from wearing the kilt. But imagine that you could be spending weekends with her as your passenger in your Sportster.
Get your Sportser right now and worry about the kilt business later.

I agree with cavscout, although my wife would never try that with me.
