GlengarryHats.com Opinions
Hamish and a few others had recomended this company before. I ordered a Royal Blue Balmoral hat from them on Sunday and received an automatic confirmation of my purchase. Afterwards I noticed there was a message on thier homepage saying they were experiencing difficulty bringing in some items and there would be significant delays. I emailed Ian asking about my order and when should I expect it but have not heard back from him.
Now I know I'm spoiled from dealing with Jerry, Rocky, Matt, and Steve. But I was curious as to what people's experiences were with this company.
Cheers

I ordered a balmoral from them, and it was delivered promptly. I ordered some badges three months ago which haven't arrived yet, but Ian had told me that they'd take a month at the minimum, and offered me a refund at that time. I said that I'd keep the order in and wait. Your post reminded me that they were still on order, so I've emailed Ian to get an ETA.

I have ordered both a balmoral and a glengarry from them. Both arrived in a very timely fashion, not a three day delivery or anything, but fairly quickly.
I even asked Ian to change the torrie on my glengarry to a different color and he did it gladly.
When I emailed him, he answered promptly.

My blue whatever it was took a while, but travel time through the system between Canada and the U.S. Fine quality, good value. That was a few months back though.

I ordered a Balmorral a couple of months ago, It came very quickly. I ordered a Glengarry about 4 weeks ago & have not recieved it yet( out of stock), but I have an e-mail to say its on its way. I think they have had problems with their manufacturers.

Looking at the traditional Scottish style hats, I have to remind myself that keeping the sun out of one's eyes, and avoiding sunburn on one's nose, weren't all that high priority for our ancestors....

I've found Ian to be a straight ahead guy. My first order, a "black knight" leather glengarry and a royal blue balmoral arrived in timely fashion. Next I ordered a diced green balmoral. The order was confirmed but my account was never debitted and the hat didn't arrive. I just assumed it had fallen through the cracks. Some months later when I ordered a plain green balmoral, Ian replied by saying its cool if you don't want to wait any longer for the diced, shipped me the plain and cancelled my diced order. His communication may not be the best, but I liked the way he treated me and his product is excellent.
I've kilt for less.

I obtained a "Khaki Balmoral Hat" from Glengarry a few months back. Quality was fine, and a reasonable turnaround (a little over a week order to delivery).
I also obtained one of their plain brown leather sporrans, but found it to be made of the lowest quality leather I've ever come across. Parts were just a tiny step up from brown cardboard. Cracks in several places.

update
Well it's been one week since I placed my order. I have sent two separate emails to Ian but have yet to hear back from Glengarry Hats.
It may be that he is on vacation. Or perhaps the hat has already shipped and he feels there is little point to responding to my inquiry. I'll give him another couple of days to get back to me and try again to contact him by email.
Cheers
