Annual Loon Mtn Highland Games

Just posting this up. This is supposed to be the biggest one in New England for the year. The pipes & drums band march down from the top of Loon to the parade fields. Its a 3 day event, with organized dinners, dances, etc, each night, if so desired. I plan on attending myself, and am trying to drag others with me. From everyone I talked to at the highland games in Greenfield, this is THE one to attend. Here is the link:

My wife and I wanted to attend the Loon Mountain games very badly. It would be a fairly long drive from our home in Albany, NY, so we looked for a place to stay about three months ago. Would you believe there wasn't an available room to be had for 50 miles?!?! Everything seems to book up about 6 months in advance. Unfortunately, this means that we won't be able to go this year. I'm really bummed. I've wanted to go to this event for years. Oh well, I guess I'll try for next year. Have fun anyone that was smart enough to make reservations in 2006.

I was told to book a room for next year's event this year. I like about an hour away, I may be making the journey daily.

I plan on going to this as well and I hear it's huge.

It's quite a drive but are any of the vendors here going?
