    Extra-long Garter Ties

Well, my long-awaited shipment of new garter ties has finally arrived, and as promised, here's an update.

    1) Some people have wondered if these were available in yellow. I put in a request for an order of yellow garters if they were available and I recieved none in the package, so sorry to say, it looks like no yellow at this time (note I can get yellow in the elastic garters!).

    2) I wqas successful in getting a small run of garters made extra-long for those with ample calves. The typical garter is 36" long. These new ones are made 44" long. I only got a small run made up, to test the waters and see what the interest is. Right now I have a few each in stock of black, tartan red, bottle green, and ancient blue. They are up and available for order on our web site as of this morning:
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/garters.html

Like I said, I only had a few made up, so order now if you want some (PS to Mike, the three that you wanted are already on their way to you!). If these sell out quickly I'm going to go ahead and put in another order, and maybe expand the color range if interested. So if there are any other colors you'd like to see in the extra-long range, let me know.

Also, those that do purchase, let me know what you think about the 44" length. Is it long enough for you? I can have them made even longer if need be, but I didn't want them to be too long for people, either. I'd appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks!
    Matt

WOW, Thanks Matt. I sure hope to get to try them out here prior to getting on the plane!

3 pair of extra long garters and 3 pair of extra-wide calf hose are currently rocketing their way to you as fast as FedEx Ground can carry them. Should be to you by the week's end, I imagine. Enjoy! You've certainly waited long enough for them!

Folks on XMarks.... Please pardon the interruption.......

As a side note, many thanks to Matt for solving the mystery of the long lost tree-trunk hose. It may not of been as much of a mystery as Panache's hunt fo the legendary arctic acryli-beast, but I expect it took Matt to many more interesting places (and long distance calls) than he was expecting. Matt, as always, you are quite the gentleman!

I got mine the other day and they look fantastic. I haven't actually worn them with hose yet, but I did wrap them around my legs to test the size and I have to say they are plenty long for my 20" calves.

The color selection is fine for now, but I would eventually like to see the same selection of colors as are available for the hose. Of course, I realize you can't base a business on my wishes alone, but that's my two cents.

Good to know on the length, Dave, thanks! We had a bit of a discussion deciding how much longer to make these. Sounds like the 44" length is a winner.

    Aye,

I have just ordered another pair of these in Bottle Green.

What I would really like to see is a set of yellow flashes like this. Some of my kilts have little stripes of yellow in the pattern and yellow flashes would tie in nicely, especially with darker hose for contrast.

What do you think Matt, is that possible?

I've asked my suppliers if these could be made in yellow, as I have several people asking for them, and so far no dice.

I'll keep mentioning it to them, though, letting them know that this is a color I have demand for. Maybe I can convince them to add it to the line.

If it ever becomes available, you'll read about it on X-Marks!
