    Scotland The Breathe

    In Monday's paper:
A teenager has cured his asthma by learning to play the bagpipes, David Armour took up the bagpipes when his breathing got so bad he couldn't do any exercise, David has had asthma since he was six years old, the results were positive almost straight away, his teacher says piping makes you control your breathing & strengthens the lungs, but his teacher is staggered at how brilliant a piper he has become.
(dont know if this is in the right section)

Probably better in the Celtic Music section. But, that is a neat story. I wonder how much truth there is to it...

I'd never thought of bagpipes as being a cure for asthma. My brother (asthmatic) should be reading this - he who swears never to be seen in a 'skirt'! Maybe it'll help change his mind.
    That's a great story.

I wouldn't be at all surprised by this. I had a similar improvement as a childhood asthmatic by learing to play the clarinet.

    Best regards

As did I playing the trombone. After 3 years of high school marching band, I was in the best shape of my life, and my asthma didn't bother me nearly as much as it does now.
