Envents in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan

By now I am sure that I have missed any possible events fir 2007 in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.
What are the events in these states (especially in the tri-state area) for 2008 that I should plan for?

    Hi,

The Dublin (Ohio) Irish Fest is August 3rd, 4th and 5th. It is a very large venue with lots to see and do. See the attached link:

    Hope to see you there.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

    My recommendations:

    Alma Highland Festival, Alma, MI
    http://www.almahighlandfestival.com/

    Ohio Scottish Festival, Wellington, OH
    http://www.ohioscottishgames.com/

Detroit St. Andrew's Highland Games, Livonia, MI
    http://www.highlandgames.com/

Detroit is actually August 4th, so you can still make that one if you like.
Also, if you're willing to drive a bit further, the Chicago games are a lot of fun too.

Chicago Highland Games, Oak Brook, IL

There are a lot of others too, most pretty small, but those I've found the best in those three states to spectate at. The Canadian games are a lot of fun too, there are some in Sarnia and Chatam that aren't too ridiculously far out that are good to go to.

Dayton's is the week before (July 27-29)

Cincinnati's is in Sept (Sept 15-16)

you'll see lots of kilts in dayton, not so many in cincinnati.

While not specifically a Highland Games or Celtic Festival, The Feast Of The Hunter's Moon in Lafayette, IN (http://www.tcha.mus.in.us/feast.htm) is a great place to see kilts and lots of culture from the late 1700s. Please pardon if I have unknowingly hijacked this thread.

The Columbus Scottish Festival is 8 & 9 September 2007.

ScottEPooh, you are correct about the Feast being a good representation of late 18th century lifestyle in this area (I'm just across the river in Lafayette) and an excellent weekend visit, but people should be aware it is not specifically a Scottish event.
