Carolina Tartan items
Hi folks! I'm happy to announce that the Scottish Tartans Museum now has a source for Carolina tartan accessories. We will be offering neck ties, scarves, sashes, and shawls in 11 oz wool, as well as yard goods in wool and cotton.
I've put in an initial stock order, which I am told will be here in about 3 weeks. However, you can go ahead and make an order on the web site now and it will ship as soon as our stock arrives.
I plan on keeping ties, scarve and sashes in stock, and leaving the shawls and yard goods for special order.

Matt, I can't wait to visit my folks in Franklin and check out the Museum and Gift shop.. Seems like every week now you're adding new merchandise (wide calf kilt hose, extra long trad. garters, clan t-shirts, etc...). It makes me wonder if you've added anything new and interesting to the museum part lately.
Hope to be up in November or December..
Cheers,
Daniel

Have you seen the London Scottish display we have? That's been the latest "big thing" we've added. It's been a little while, though.
Right now the biggest project in the museum is rebuilding all of the tartan display boards. We have a bunch of new tartans to add to them, and they all need relabelling. We are about half way through that process right now.

Last time I was there, was when I picked up my new kilt in November. I moved back to FL in January.
Hope to see you and the museum before the year is out.
Cheers,
Daniel

When you head that way, LET US KNOW.
I'd make a "day" of it (and get a good excuse for a mountain drive to Franklin).

I've GOT to ask . . .
What is the color toning of the Carolina stuff?
Closer to the cotton fabric?
Closer to the Lochcarron 16 oz wool special run (which would match my kilt)?
Somewhere in between?

It's very close to the colors of the cotton fabric. See the picture on our web site.

I like the Carolina tartan very much, though I have no connection to the Carolinas. Except a school marching band trip to Myrtle Beach a long time ago, but I won't get into that...
