Traditonal Garters

One of my friends is graciously finger-weaving me a pair of white merino wool garters. While not exactly the same as the ones offered by the Scottish Tartan Museum, I'm still pretty excited for them.

With my cable-knit kilt hose from Hamilton Dry Goods and my sporran on it's way, I can barely contain myself!

Sorry for the random post...I just needed something to get my mind off the stresses of life at the moment.

The hose are black. I've got a red pair, but it's too fire engine red for my kilt. I actually bought those in anticipation of a Royal or Black Stewart SWK I plan on getting after Christmas (maybe sooner!)

I was looking at my 2 pairs from the STM shop, and thinking that I may have just enough ability to garter stitch----whoa, just saw that one coming, groan!---a simple garter. Probably have to use the wee, small needles though...

Finger woven garters! They should lookl great. I tried my hand at finger weaving a few years back to make garters for my leggings and a powder horn strap. I don't have the patience or the finger dexterity to do it on a regular basis. Hope you enjoy them and don't forget pics when you get them.
