Forum downtime
I've just received the news of an upgrade to the vBulletin forum software.
My original plan was to upgrade this site tomorrow evening, but I've remembered I've a funeral home visitation to make.
I've two forums that are top priority (my own ) and have this evening set aside to upgrade both of them. Both have several modified templates, so I'm not sure how long I will be working with those template edits. If I can get through both of them fairly quickly, I will try to upgrade this site this evening.
If not, I will try to make the upgrade to this one sometime on Saturday.
In any instance, if you should arrive here to find the forum is down, allow about 30-40 minutes and check back. I'll be in and out as quickly as possible.

I'm copying over some template edits and as soon as I have them completed (10-15 minutes), the forum will be down for about 30 minutes or so.
I'll see everyone on the other side.

Good fortune sir. See you on the other side.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

OK, we're back and I apologize for the inordinate amount of time we were down. The host only dumped me off seven times!
I don't know what it is about this particular hosting company, but I cringe every time I have to upgrade this one.
Welcome to vBulletin 3.6.8.
The upgrade should be fairly seamless to most users. There were six reported bugs fixed in this version (none of which had been reported here), so no real differences. vBulletin is soon to be releasing a blogging add-on (titled vB Blog) and there were some file changes made to accommodate that script. Again, nothing which should affect users here. With the end of life for PHP 4 being just a few months down the road, this version is leaning more into PHP 5, which again should not be a noticeable change.
If anyone notices anything out of place or not working as it should, please open a thread in the Tech Questions forum.

Once again, thank you for keeping us well informed about changes. Mike.
