    Scotland's biggest ever Highland games

Time to start saving guys for the biggest ever games in Edinburgh in 2009. It looks like being as good an excuse as any to come here.

Phil, that really looks like it is worth a visit, that is if anyone needed an excuse to visit Edinburgh.

I do hope this comes to pass - anything to attract more tourists is always welcome.
Only caveat is that I wouldn't like it to be at the expense of existing games - many of the smaller Games already struggle to get enough support from competitors and spectators.

A couple of months ago at the Dallas, TX highland games, we had someone (Can't remember his name unfortunately...) from the Scottish parliament make the announcement at opening ceremonies for this. Sounds like there is a real push for this to be big. I'd love to make it over for the festivities!

If I start saving now, I might have enough to get the family to Scotland for this event.int:

I never need an excuse to visit Edinburgh but something to give serious thought to!

There are a small number of people who regularly post these sort of comments. If you read the paper on the internet regularly you get to recognise them and just ignore them. I'm afraid we get cranks everywhere and these unmoderated comments just encourage them.
