Indie Denim Union Kilt - Pictures and a review
Well, I got my bespoke (Read as made for short folk) Indie Denim kilt from Union Kilts today.
Considering that it was a bespoke kilt, I was expecting it to take a lot longer than it did. (It took about three weeks.)
The customer service was great. I was originally sent a regular sized kilt as well as the one that they were making for me, but Richard was easy to deal with and arranged for a courier to pick it up at a time that suited me.
The kilt itself is a perfect fit. I'm really happy with it.
The seams are all perfectly flat and securely sewn.
I expected the kilt to be a much lighter fabric, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was quite a heavy, dense weave and very hard-wearing.
So far today I've worn it while playing with the dog, doing some D.I.Y and doing some light garden work.
The pleats have kept their shape really well and the kilt has stayed comfortable the whole time.
The pockets are spacious and they didn't alter the shape of the pleats no matter how much I stuffed in there.
There's even a great little velcro closure pocket on the right side that's perfect for my mobile phone.
This being my first contemporary kilt, I am still getting used to the smaller aprons, but I am 100% happy with it.
So here are two pictures that I had someone snap for me today.
In the garden and being distracted by an unusual bird.

And in the living room.

All in all I'm really happy with it and I'd have no problem with ordering from Union Kilts again.
Now to save up for the cord kilt...
