Dumfries and Galloway Pictures #5
As promised, here is a selection of pictures of my travels when I stayed at Ferintosh last week. The full set will be uploaded to my photo blog site at www.fotothing.com/cleftref .
I just realised this is my last post at my current rank also!
Side on view Cardonnes Castle near Gatehouse of Fleet.
This is a six storey tower house of the MacCulloch Clan and dates back to the 15th century.

A different elevation. The castle stands on it's own mound so a little climbing is required to reach it.

Plaque outlining a little of the Castle's history. Note the reference to the fate of Godrey MaCulloch on the Maiden which was covered in a recent thread on the Museum of Scotland. There is a model of it in the visitor centre too.

Interior of the Castle's Great Hall.

Looking up to where the roof once was.

You can climb up part of the structure to get lovely views.

View from the Castle towards Gatehouse of Fleet.

Parting shot on the descent.

More to come but not from a Kilted Elder!
