Middle Georgia Newb
I lurked here on XMTS for a bit before signing up. You guys are a great resource and I thank you. Greetings from Middle Georgia.
I wouldn't have posted here in the newbie forum, but I wanted to know more about the Culloden, GA games and get a bit of history - as well as say hello.
Anybody know how this two horse town became a large gathering place for Scotish games? Even ESPN shows up.
While I can see The Ocho being interested, wearing a kilt around "town" is likely to get you shot. Anybody know any more history than Culloden's pitiful website?
Thanks -'Nuts

Welcome to the neighborhood ![Cheers!](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beer.gif)
No better information to offer except that so many Scots immigrated to Georgia that the name probably came with them, and because of the name it was decided to capitalize on it and hold the games there.

Welcome
Welcome from NE Atlanta!
Where in middle Georgia are you? I go to Wilkinson County, south of Milledgeville, ocassionally.
You might keep an eye on the Kilt Nights forum for announcements of kilt nights in the Atlanta area. We have them every few weeks.
Maybe we will see you at the Stone Mountain games in October.

Welcome from Roswell from a full-time kilt-wearer. I'm still in one piece and you'd be surprised how many people a) get used to your appearance to the point where if yo wear pants they comment on it, or b) studiously pretend you don't exist.
Unfortunately, the Culloden games were cancelled this year, I believe for lack of funds. You should definitely check out the Hartwell Games the first saturday in October, Or the Savannah Games in September. Two X-Markers will be sharing a vendors tent at Hartwell. Look for the tartan banner.
