search function
The search function is now completely usesless; the images are so distorted as to be illegible. Why on earth do we have to input that stuff just to search the forum threads anyway?

Useless?
If one takes the time to log into one's account, one will never see the CAPTCHA images.
As for this 'now' being a problem, the CAPTCHA system has been in place for the better part of a year, was actually in place prior to your own account registration, and has been extremely successful in cutting back on some of the spam issues we once suffered.
Why on earth do we have to input that stuff just to search the forum threads anyway?
Because you can't be bothered with the time-consuming process of logging in?
