crazy! .....remember that European work kilt?

I suspect Hamish will remember this......but a LONG time ago there somebody had found and posted a picture of a gentleman wearing what was sort of a Danish? version of a utilikilt. It wassupposedly in production by a company called Blaklader. They are not kilt makers as such, but they are makers of workwear.
Well......back in June of 2006!!! yes more than a year ago I emailed the company and asked them about the kilt. The reply was that it wasn't in production.
Skip forward til now....I get an email back!! An actual reply to my original question that in fact the work kilt is now in production.

From what I can tell it's only available in the UK, not in North America yet.
Here's a link to blaklader. Choose a European country...search for prodcuts, under Craftsman, then shorts....
Definately not for everybody....those big nail pockets on the front would come in handy if I was a carpenter though. My only beef with the website is for not showing the back. I wonder it it's actually pleated?

I'm counting on one of you to buy one and review it for me!

Like the look or not, you gotta hand it to the marketing guy for getting back to me when they went into production though huh?

    Thanks for the update, Cloves!

Yes, it does show a US distributor in Eagan, MN but they don't seem to carry the "kilt."

I wonder if they would post a photo of the back if we asked? They seem to be on top of customer service...

Looks like something to WORK in and I am not about to spent a lot of money for something I try to avoid as much as possible.
    Thanks anyway.

Interesting that the kilt continues to spread.

Probably not for me - the nature of my work best suits a traditional wool kilt and I now have enough heavy kilts for casual wear - Freedom Kilts and Union Kilts.
(But you do have to give them top marks for marketing their kilts and keeping track of enquirers to let them know when it goes into production).
