feile mor convert...
Wore my belted plaid, for an extended period of time, for the first time Saturday.
We spent all day & evening at the PA RenFaire... had my Stewart Hunting feile mor, a linen shirt, undershirt, knee-high rustic moc-boots, and a rustic sort-of-a-tam.
Weather was cool, after 24hrs of heavy rains, in the high 50's.
At night, it dropped to the 40's.
The comfort was the first thing I noticed... I can't really put my finger on why, but it's just MORE COMFY!
Second, the versatility: When the sun was warmer, during the day,I was able to tuck the excess tartan behind me. As the temperature dropped, I brought it across my shoulder, and pinned with a brooch.
Later, as night temps settled in, I brought the excess up over my shoulders,as a cloak.
It's like having several garments in one... only you don't have to change! Just a moment or two of adjustment, is all it takes.
Ok...I know I'm rambling about things most of you already know...
Needless to say, I am hooked!

And if you're caught out on the moors at night you can take it off and use it for a bed roll (sleeping bag)
