    Stillwater Leather Nightstalker Sporran

I guess I was one of the lucky ones who saw the post about the initial batch of leather Nightstalker sporrans. I just received it in the mail a few minutes ago and thought everyone would like to see some pictures. I don't have a nylon Nightstalker so I don't have anything to compare it to but I really like this and plan to get one in brown when available. The leather is very supple and of course has that great smell. Great combination of pocket sizes and locations.

I know this was listed as sub-standard but I notice nothing terribly wrong. The seams on the side gussets are not exactly even right to left and the front flap might be slightly crooked inside but these two things aren't really noticable in normal wear.

First a front shot in natural lighting:

P.S. I forgot to ask...can you fit lots more stuff in it than in the average band sporran?

Sorry, I've never really seen or handled a typical band sporran. The only decent sporran I own is one of the Buzz Kidder country sporran models. This should easily hold more than that one and the stuff will be more organized to boot. Dimensions are just about 8" at the widest part by 8 1/2" tall. The main zip compartment opening is huge as can be seen in one of the photos. The zipper runs from half way down the side, up over the top and 1/2 way down the other side.

Assuming that it's just a leather version of the nylon original, it holds a respectable amount. I have a Buzz Kidder and the Nightstalker holds more stuff and has compartments that make organization easier.

    Best

Really? NOW I find this out! well, better late than never. Given how roomy I find the Buzz Kidder compared to the "standard" ones I found on various sites, that's saying a lot!

Ok, here are a few more pictures to show how wide it opens.

For reference, two common items. The bottle doesn't quite fit height-wise but it gives you a good idea of size. The coffee mug is normal size and I was able to zip the main compartment around it which gives a good idea of thickness.

I just grabbed my Buzz Kidder to compare. The overall size is comparable but the Nightstalker is slightly thicker and there is absolutely no comparison of the size of the openings:

Great photos, many thanks! The second set, though, give me pause. If the zipper goes down almost to the bottom of the bag, isn't there the chance of everything in it falling out whenever you open it?
