An X-Kilt for Panache
I really wanted to make James a maroon camoflage kilt, but just try to find this stuff? So I am reluctantly settling for "Predator" camo, many thanks to way2fractious for the material.
The Goal: finished kilt by November Nor Cal Beer and Kilts Night!
OK, I won't count the trip to Joanne's for the thread, since I'm out of anything that's appropriately colored. I'm going to make this X-Kilt the same way I made mine, in fact it will be almost the exact same kilt except that I'm putting in a bit more a-shaping in the over-apron and will adjust where the under-apron fastens over on the left. So I'm taking short-cuts, we'll say. The end result is the same. I can do these short-cuts 'cause I think this is X-Kilt #6 for me. You first-timers, you follow the instructions! I gotta go back to JoAnne's this weekend for more velcro. Anyway, so today..
1 hour: Cut it out... ironed over the hem, and stitched it down. Did the right-hand edge of the over-apron. Serged the raw edges of the under-apron strip...which BTW is about 6 inches wide.
