the Ultimatum
...or more of a test.
The wife and I restrict our purchases from Oct-Jan to insure the kids get a great Christmas. I'm waiting to purchase my first kilt until after the holidays.
Now that the temps are dropping, I'm in need of some new pants. Over the weekend my wife tries to get me to buy a pair of jeans. I respectfully decline. I think this opened her eyes/mind and she is understanding that I'm serious in moving forward with a kilt purchase.
I knew the question of price would come up sooner or later. Yesterday she requested to see some sites where I'm considering ordering from. When she spots the price lists, she gets these wide eyes and says, "350 plus". I immediately try to explain the life expectancy of the kilt. She then asks, "and you plan to wear a kilt everyday and everywhere". I explain that once I start getting a few kilts, to which I don't have to wear the same one 24/7, I'll wear a kilt everyday.
So out comes the Ultimatum or a test I suppose.
"How about this? You can spend up to $150 on your first kilt. If you wear it everyday and everywhere we go for one solid week I won't disagree with any other kilt purchases."
So now I'm excited. This is great! Ah, but then my mind begins to work and I know that week will be the busiest week of my life and to places I normally don't go. For we have a bit of a mentality together.
I'm looking at the standard SWK to start things off.
