I have. I got my first sporran from them. THey sent it fast enough and all. Shipping seemed a bit high and I was really disappointed with the quality. I like their prices, but I'd read up on them more before getting that.
I don't know where the jackets are made, but I have an idea where my sporran was made...and it wasn't the US. I notice they have a bit on their website on the benefits of buying from an American company. But notice that they don't say: American Made. Maybe they produce the jackets in the US and maybe the quality is there, but that was my experience.

Think this company has come up a bunch of times before, with positive referrals. Try a search of the forum and see what you get.

I don't know about TheKiltedWonder's sporran but Ron is right - they are recommended here quite often. Do a search here and you should get quite a number of hits. To tell you the truth I'm not thrilled with the quality with my Hector-Russell waiscoat that I bought in Edinburgh. The Hector-Russell jacket however is excellent. You just never know it seems.

We ordered our original jackets for our rental program from them and had to replace all of them about one year later, if that tells you anything about the quality.

Actually, just for comparison's sake, what is the usual expected lifespan for your rentals?

I have to stand up for Higgins, my band has been using them and I pipe a lot. My jacket as well as everybody else's in the band have held up, as well as our kilts, which are also made by J Higgins. I would have to believe that anything rented would stand a chance of being abused to a degree so should not be a fair comparison. Take rental cars for example, especially rental cars from lots outside military installations...... I've never purchased a sporran from them though so I can't speak for that.

I really cannot comment on the quality of their merchandise because I never got past my initial phone inquiry. I was not at all impressed with the individual that I spoke with on the phone. In fact, I guess I have them to thank for seeking further information on kilts and winding up here.

I bought my waistcoat from them after doing a lot of comparison shopping on the 'net, and thought it was a decent value for the money.

    Best regards

I experienced excellent customer service from them, I bought buttons for a kilt jacket conversion.
I also have a vest and jacket from them (I got both second hand for a grand total of about $13!); both seem to be of very good quality.
