National Dog Show Handler Kilted
I did not see the portion of the show, but my In-Laws told me that the handler for the Puli at the National Dog Show today was kilted. Apparently he wears his kilt all the time at shows. I glimpsed a clip of the kilt in a quick shot later in the broadcast but obviously they were more focused on the dog. Perhaps photos will be available later or they will rerun the show.

I watched the whole thing with my Australian Shepherd. She was thrilled that her value just went up! I never saw the kilted guy though. Or maybe I didn't notice.

I happened to see him. Full get-up evening wear, PC, black fur sporran and bowtie. Didn't recognize the tartan, but it was a dark blue or green based one.
I usually only see the terriers because I like the Westies (I have two of them).

I wonder if the swing of the kilt helps to emphasize the swing and length of the puli's coat...

I saw that handler showing the Komondor during the working dog Best-of-Class competition. The commentators said he always shows in his kilt. Dark hose and non-gillie footwear (I couldn't tell but think they were buckled) suggests he knows a thing or two about the white hose for formalwear controversy). He was quite well turned-out.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this dog handler wearing a kilt. The tartan appeared to be blue with wide purple stripes and thin white stripes, something like the Pride of Scotland tartan. One of the announcers said the handler always wears a kilt when showing dogs.
I thought the PC made him look overdressed, but he wore the kilt well. I don't think I would have been brave enough to wear a fur sporran around a large number of dogs.

To a owner of a Westie there is only one breed IMHO. I was blest with one for ten happy years.I like you always watch for the Westie and cheer them on.
I didn't see the dog show and missed the kilt but have wondered if someone would ever show a Westie while wearing one, it would indeed be a winning combination! Whatever the breed though good on the handler for wearing the kilt.
Disclaimer: I am hoplessly and forever biased when it comes to the West Highland Terrier and Kilts. They are among the best that has been bestowed on humble mankind,

I thought it was funny that the color commentators talked so much aout the kilt and how good it looked. One said he believed the kilt was the reason for casual fridays and that that's what he'd want to wear...
So maybe it's not the real reason, but who cares? Good coverage of the kilt is great!

Well, we have a member who raises and shows Puli's. Perhaps that actually WAS Loftguy?
