    Question Jewish Tartan

Galician noticed the menorah in my family Christmas photo, and asked me about it. My wife is Jewish, so we celebrate both holidays during the season (and throughout the year). Anyway, he asked an interesting question - Is there an official Jewish tartan out there anywhere? Might be something I would be interested in for my kids.

I recall the question has been asked before, I forget if there was though. Why just for your kids? You could wear it in honour of your wife as well (even use as a 'get out of the doghouse free card' when needed).

My wife is half Jewish. The other half is Robertson.

    Wear Robertson, therefore! We do!

Personally, I've always wondered about taking Royal Stewart, replacing the red with blue, adding more white, etc, to create the Jon Stewart tartan...

The answer was no, not really. The field is wide open for someone to make a new one.

    Best regards,

I noticed that someone posted a pic of a kilt (with matching yarmulke ) in the "MacShapiro" tartan. Was that a joke?

Not a joke, what I recall was that it was a custom tartan woven for the wearer.

    Best regards,

Oh, well his stage surname is Scottish. But he is Jewish. So I thought it would be funny to create a tartan using blue and white for him, based off a Stewart pattern.

Ah, I see! Interesting suggestion. But would the fact that he's a graduate of William & Mary have any influence on you?
