This Date in Python
Well, for anyone who is a Python fan but doesn't have the Python day at a time calendar, there's 2 things about today's date.
1 - Today in 1971 they began shooting segments for the third series of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
2 - the caption for the picture on the page is "Always popular with the crowd is The Scotsman with Nae Trews exhibit."
I wish I could put the picture up, but I thought this might bring a smile (and a bit of info) to someone's day.

Very cool. I've been a fan of Python since first hearing of them in 1974 or so.

Always popular with the crowd, is the Scotsman with Nae Trews exhibit, and this year's no exception. (a very large man (John) dressed as a Scotsman in front of a sign saying 'Scotsman with Nae Trews Exhibit, Sponsored by Natural Gas'; an enormously long line of middle-aged pepperpots stand waiting in a queue; each in turn lifts up a comer of Scotsman's kilt, has a tiny peek and walks off) Sponsored by Natural Gas and Glasgow City Council, this exhibit is entirely supported by voluntary contributions.
A kilted Celt on the border.

All you Python fans make sure to read Michael Palin's new book, Diaries 1969-1979: The Python Years. Gives you a huge amount of insight into what was going on behind the scene during the early Python Years.

Monty Python is great! My wife and I had an opportunity to see Spamalot while we were in London. It was fantastic! I highly recommend it. And for everyone who is is the states, it's playing in Vegas and on Broadway.
