Kilt spotted on CNN's "Everyday Heros"
This morning on the 6:00 AM (EST) CNN News, they were covering the "Everyday Heroes" Awards. They presented an award to a Scotsman who saved some lives during the Glasgow Airport bombing. He was clad in a kilt with an Argyll jacket and a matching tartan bowtie. I got a glimpse of the tartan , it was predominantly green with a yellow line and a small black stripe on each edge of the yellow line.
Maybe one of our cybergenius's here can find a link to the program and post it here for all to see.

The picture is on "Tribute Gala Honors CNN Heroes" there is a series of 7 pictures on www.cnn.com of some of the winners, the shot was taken of John Smeaton at the podium and is of the upper body. The Prince Charlie and Vest are very evident. The kilt doesn't show in this photo.
This morning, on the program, they showed a panorama of all the honorees on stage and another follow-up shot of him later. The kilt was very well displayed in both shots.
I tried but couldn't link it to my post.

At CNN Video under top stories, title "Saving a Police Officer".
edited note: The interviewer comments on his accent and his Kilt. When she asks about the Kilt he informs her it's the ancient MacNeil of Barra from his Grandmother's lineage I believe. I'd have to go back and watch it again...but I'm not sure of a link to the actual video...

That is the story, I missed that portion of the interview, but it does show the kilt in several shots.
Does anyone know what tartan it is? It is very similar to the Lamont but has an alternate yellow stripe.

Too bad we haven't found the pictures. But this is a gala event. And he wore a kilt. More ammunition in the fight to convince some that the kilt can be worn formally!
