    Alternative materials

Tonight I wore a black wool argyll jacket with my kilt, but my dad wore a camel hair jacket with his trousers. I was wondering, has anybody made a camel hair argyll jacket? I think it would look really good. Sounds like something 21st century kilts might want to try out.

Not an Argyle but we did a Donegal Jacket from Camel hair. It looked very good.

I agree camel hair would make a very nice kilt jacket. I'm sure a custom tailor who does kilt jackets could make one for you. Or you could do a conversion.

A conversion? The only way I'd ever do a conversion is if I found the jacket at a thrift shop, and I don't think I'll be coming across a camel hair jacket anytime soon in one of those...

Now, that you mention it, I have a camel hair imitation sport jacket that I am going to take to my tailor. He's getting pretty good at modifying my jackets.

    Great idea.
