Stephen family & relatives
Any Xmarkers out there by the name of Stephen?
My family [on my mother's side] hailed from Aberdeen, and moved to Canada around 1901.
There are long-term associations with the Hudson's Bay Company, and the Canadian Pacific Railway. I'm told that historic connections with the Mathesons go back centuries, but the earliest record of the Stephen family dates from the year 1010. Other names that occur in the family are Paul, Chalmers, and Smith.
Since 2010 would be the 1000th anniversary of the Stephen family's arrival in Scotland, I thought it would be appropriate to have a tartan designed specifically, perhaps based on the Matheson.
If there are any possible relatives out there who might be interested in helping launch this little project, or anyone who can offer information or suggestions as to how to go about this, please let me know.
