Well, I am looking for a simle sgian dubh. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where I can find a decent one at a reasonable price. Thanks folks!

What are you looking for there are a few members who make them I've bought one from Raptor for casual wear that I love so it depends what you are looking for and what your budget is.

I bought my first one from Sport Kilts. I had never really had any dealings with sgian dubhs and thought that they were just for looks. Turns out this one is actually sharp and has come in handy when it comes to opening boxes and packages. I got the Rampant Lion. It looks really nice and has a great feel.

Best on the planet is the "Officer Model" from Gaelic Themes in Glasgow-- I know because I designed it for them. Their website is www.gaelicthemes.com

Because of all the hysteria associated with weapons of any sort, I think I'm just going to get a tattoo of one on my calf.
But when I bring it up, my wife sez: "Calves hell! Them steers!"

I got one very affordable from the Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Tennessee.

It's foreign made, stainless steel, and probably not cut out for heavy use. It looks nice. If you really examine it up close it appears cheap. It looks fine from the top of your kilt hose, but doesn't compare well in side-to-side pairings with nicer ones. It comes with a larger one, ostensibly a dirk but looks like a giant sgian.
What I'm trying to say is this: it is cheap, both in price and construction, but will do the job. If you want a nice one, pay extra for it and get one from Raptor or Rab Gordon.

If you are on this forum, then you must have access to the net.....
Simply google the words "sgian dubh" and you will have hours of listings to peruse. From as high as $1200.00 to as low as $3.95.
There should be something there that would work for you.
