    Kilted New Year's Resolutions

I surprised that no one else had come up with this yet.
Similar to Beloitpiper's Kilted Christmas Wish List, what are your kilted resolutions for the New Year?

    Mine:
    • Lose the extra 10 pounds I've gained in the last two months, so all of my kilts fit again, and shift another 5 pounds for good measure.
    • I have two kilts which weight loss won't help - resize at least one of them.
    • Sew at least four new kilts for myself.
    • Try some of the interesting DIY sgian dubh techniques posted here.
    • Get off my pleated behind and buy a house. How's that kilt-related? - cedar closet for kilts, storage for accessories, workroom for sewing/projects, you get the idea.
    • Practice my chanter more, and hopefully start on the bagpipes proper.
    • Better my time in Edinboro's Kilted Mile.
    • Make it to more SOKS Kilt Nights.

Don't smoke, don't drink, don't go with loose women. So what can I make my new year resolution? GIVE UP LYING I SUPPOSE.

Haha. Funny funny. However, you actually described me to a T (see: xMY CHOICEx link in my signature.)

One resolution kiltwise would be for me to get the XMTS cloth in the top of my closet sewn into something with pleats, straps, and buckles. Another, though not sure it will happen, would be to get one of those fantastic Beaver sporrans from the Ferguson Brit collection (the one Matt wears.)

    * Spend every last penny I have on kilts and accessories.
    * Joens really hard for more kilts and kilt accessories.
    * Start the whole thing again.
    * Not be able to make up my mind on what I want, so get both of what ever it is.
    * Spend more money on the kilts and stuff like that.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Well...I'd like to get a Farquharson Tank, but I want to loose some weight first. I think I've come up a plan, however: I'm going to quit eating fast food and put the money I would have spent into a coffee can and save it towards a new kilt. For as much as I have eaten out this last year, I figure if I scale it back, I'll have the money in just a few months. The weight might take a little longer.

I suppose mine would be to pay off a good bit of these student loans so I can stop just looking at more kilts and accessories.

I never much go into New Year's resolutions, cause I never keep them for more than a day or so. But for Kilt related resolutions, I'll just make an easy one.

    Get more kilts.
Convert every remaining jacket in my closet for kilt wear.
    Get more colors of hose.
    Get more kilts.
Get a kilt pin for every kilt and permanently attach same.
Donate all remaining pants to Good Will.
Cull out more non-kilt wearable shirts from closet.
Throw or give away short socks.
    Get more kilts.
Throw or give away all but three pair of under shorts.
Get three more matching sashes for the wife.
Learn how to make sash rosettes.
Make a couple of Sgian Dubhs.
    Get more kilts.

OK - I think I can keep those.

Initially resolved to make it Uruguay as I have been to Argentina a couple of times, but my wife has suggested a trip together to Scotland instead. So not really a resolution yet, but we are defiantly working on it.

I made a resolution about ten years ago that is the only one I've ever kept. I'm still keeping it. The resolution? To never make another new year's resolution. My theory on it is that if I want to make a change in my life, today is the day I start-be it January first, or the twentieth of May.

My wife made the same resolutin a couple year's back, and according to her, it's the only resolution she's ever kept.
