    Sad News - George Mcdonald Fraser

    I've heard George Mcdonald Fraser, author of the McAuslan books, passed away today. condolences to the Family, a sad loss

    Jock -- what a blow. Whilst most folks knew GMF through Flashman, I will always love McAuslan, The Steel Bonnets and his autobiographical account of the Burma Campaign, Quartered Safe Out Here.

    Fraser also wrote screenplays, including The Three Musketeers (1973) and the James Bond film Octopussy (1983). As long as we have his works, he'll be with us.

    A great guy. I'll miss him. If you haven't read THE HOLLYWOOD HISTORY OF THE WORLD, or MR. AMERICAN, you have missed out on GMcDF at his best.
