Thanks for posting that, Ern! I had no idea when the story was going to run. No I wasn't kilted that day, as it was a Wednesday when the photographer came and my kilted work days are on Fridays. Funny part is that the guy was in our lab for more than two hours, and those three shots are all they used. The one of me trimming that die was part of a set where I was trying to do a very delicate part of our manufacturing procedure with a cameraman resting on my shoulder with a lens against my cheek! The article was actually kind of a follow-up to an article a few months ago about charity work in which my employer is involved which provides medical and dental treatment to the poorest of the poor in the most rural parts of Appalachia in the Commonwealth.

As an implant wearer who can say the replacement is better than the original part, I truly appreciate the work you do!

I'm the lab manager, but of course still a technician at heart! Being the manager just means that nobody questions my productivity or lack thereof, lol. Actually, the job has been a real joy. After 16 years of working as a production technician my left wrist was starting to be trouble. I still do a lot of production work, but it's broken up by other things and varied from job to job. Repetitive stress injuries are definitely the rule and not the exception in this field. Getting away from doing the same thing all day every day is definitely extending my career. Any time you want a tour of the joint, Ern, please let me know. We can meet there Friday if you like.
