after the Oscar nomination for Brokeback, i figured he'd have a long career in the movies. I'm still looking forward to his role as the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie.
His was a very versatile actor and will be missed.

It is rather shocking, of all the young up and coming actors out there he seemed to have his head in the right place. Just now on CNN they said that he was very troubled by his role as the Joker and just could not let go of the character, he said he had trouble sleeping because of it, and apparently there were two bottles of sleeping pills found one over the counter and one prescription.

I saw that on my e-mail headlines. I have never seen any of his movies, but the name was instantly recognizable. It would probably be quite easy to accidentally overdose on sleeping pills, I'd think.

It is very sad. Goes to show that our happiness and well being has to based on more than a lifestyle.
My prayers go out to his family.

Yeah, I was really shocked when I heard that this evening.
I just keep thinking about his poor little girl.

I'm never really surprised to hear celebrities deaths. Think about it, they live their lives as entertainment for everybody. What a horrible way to live. No privacy, and they're always in the spotlight.
Don't get me wrong, I thought he was a great actor and he seemed to be a stand-up guy, but it just doesn't shock me.

This is the first I heard of Heath's untimely death , and I am truly shocked. I only ever saw him in 'Brokeback Mountain', but what a performance. Such a tragic waste of a young, talented, life.
Ham.

I am also sorry on the loss of a great actor. He may be in the spotlight, but he is a human being, first and foremost. The loss of any human at an early age is a tragedy. May his family have the privacy to mourn him in the respectful manner he deserves.

I'm not trying to derail the topic here. But, it's not as if someone forces any person to be a "celebrity" and get paid all those millions upon millions of dollars. I can certainly say there are MUCH worse terrible ways to live.
Anyway, as to the topic, it is definitely unfortunate. But, no more unfortunate than the countless other untimely deaths that take place every day.
