NEWSOME BOX PLEAT – St. Patrick Tartan

This week my St. Patrick tartan box pleat kilt arrived from Matt Newsome. It is a work of art. The fit is perfect. It is a marvel to behold.

This was an impulse purchase buy on my part. Matt had the tartan on special. I already had on order the St. Columba tartan box pleat. It just seemed natural to have the Celtic Saint of Ireland.

The same day I saw the kilt sale I learned from Family Tree’s that my DNA analysis showed 10,000 years ago my ancestors where in northwest Ireland. It all came together!

Okay so here is the front shot. I had placed an order with J Byous for a Tam O’Shanter. Seemed to the right hat to go with this kilt. It arrived this week too! So it debuts here. It’s a great hat.

    The rear shot!

St. Patrick was Scottish and St. Columba was Irish and St. Andrew was a Galilean!

    The lifted leg shot!

It was a brisk day in Spotsylvania. An earlier gift from my wife of this Donegal Irish wool sweater kept me toasty!

Is there a St. Brigid tartan?

BEAUTIFUL! Love your new kilt sir!

This is the tartan that the Clan O'Mórda Society voted last year on St. Patrick's Day to wear as a cockade upon our bonnets. We chose the solid green "Irish" as our kilt, though St. Patrick came in as a close second!

The kilt looks great on you, and you accessorize it well.

Please iron the pleats, though! It may just be from the shipping, but it looks like you've just worn the kilt on a long car trip!

I had to drive about an hour to a Burns Supper last night, and wore my kilt for the trip. I'm afraid I probably had my fair share of wrinkles by the time I got there!

On another note, isn't the cloth in this tartan super nice? I really enjoyed working with it. It holds a pleat very well.
