Sporran by Celtic Empire
I have been looking for a brown sporran for some time. No, I don't want glitz or fur, and certainly not a mask [ugh!]. But I do insist on quality, practicality, and aesthetics--and all at a reasonable price.
I think I have found such an item.
Hand crafted in Vancouver BC, the Celtic Empire sporran is made of quality materials to a simple, elegant design. At 8" high by 7" wide, it is big enough to comfortably hold my wallet, two sets of keys and my passport--in fact pretty much everything I might otherwise have in my pockets. The sporran is designed in such a way as to not require any kind of fastener, which keeps down cost and makes for clean lines. If you don't feel it is secure enough, adding a hidden piece of velcro might set your mind at ease.
When you consider what is available on the market at double the price, the Celtic Empire sporran is definitely worth your consideration.
Yeah, I know. Pictures! Check the website. I should be receiving my Canadian Casual Kilt soon, and my Alpha kilt shortly thereafter. Both will look great with a brown belt and sporran, so I'll have pictures taken then....
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. But the world will be a different place, because I did something so mind bafflingly eccentric that my ruins have become a tourist attraction.

I have one of these from Celtic Empire and I must say, I like my Buzz Kidder better:
I saw one of these from Celtic Empire at the NorCal Burns Supper last night, and was much more impressed by it:

I saw one of these, and I too, think that the Buzz Kidder is better and costs less.

Only sporran I found was the one with the crest on it. Very nice looking.
I really like the "no closure" sporrans. Have a hair on buffalo sporran custom made by Miss April's Carpetbags and its like that. The weight of the buffalo leather flap is plenty to keep it in place, never had a problem with it AND its very convenient not to have to fiddle with it.
I could never get my hamhock hands inside my BK sporrans, let alone get that little magnetic snap dealie closed. I like them big.
And sadly, here's Celtic Empire is another sporran vendor who doesn't think their potential customers need to know the size of their sporrans before purchase. For $225 CDN you'd think that'd be an important thing to know...and a pic of the back for attachment purposes.
Would be very sweet to have a sporran made from that 200 year old reindeer leather if one had the funds.

I have had several dealings with Rudi at Celtic empire and he is a great guy. I had one of the sporrans you are refering to (with the clan logo). It was nice and it served me very well for soem time, but I have passed it on to my son to use. Once I got my Freelander, all other casual sporrans didn't fit the bill of what I wanted in a casual sporran.
Again, Rudi does great work and I will likely order stuff from him again in the future, but for my money the freelander was just a better fit. Having said that, you can't go wrong dealing with Rudi.

From Celtic Empire: $65 -- From Stillwater Kilts: $20
But I'm pretty fond of their Sgian Dubh, clan sporrans, and walking stick.

I wish Rudi would make some multi-colored kilt belts along the lines of his guitar straps though frankly it would be out of my price league.
